Sky pirates, steampunk nuns & techno-magic! This book is a double-barreled blast of clockwork adventure. ⚙️🚂📿 #Steampunk #Adventure #IndieGem
In a world humming with the power of steam and glowing under the soft haze of gaslight, Of Gears and Gaslight: A Steampunk Action and Adventure Novel opens a portal to not just one, but two mechanically magical worlds.
This book has one of the coolest structures I’ve seen in a while. It’s an enthralling novel presenting two distinct series, each with its own set of stories.
First up is Gears of Time, which follows train engineer Gerald Elgin. His story kicks off with a seemingly simple act—getting his watch repaired—but spirals into a time-splitting adventure involving giant aeroships and sky pirates. It promises the kind of classic, high-stakes action that makes the steampunk genre so thrilling. It’s a world driven by clockwork and machinery, and I’m ready for the full tour.
Then, just when you think you know what you're getting, the book introduces Gaslight Abbey. And wow. This concept is wildly original. We follow Brother Theophilis Archer, a monk who "trades in his crucifix for magic" to retrieve a sacred scroll. He gets help from "steampunk nuns" and "steam monks" with "unorthodox weapons." I'm sorry, but you can sign me up for the Steam Monks immediately! The fusion of ecclesiastical adventure with "techno-magic" and a battle against the Angel of Death sounds absolutely incredible. It’s a daring and imaginative blend of themes that feels fresh and exciting.
Justin Bienvenue has crafted what feels like an ode to everything that makes steampunk wonderful: adventure, invention, and worlds brimming with utopian potential and dark despair. This novel promises a time-splitting, steam-fused experience that is pure, unadulterated fun.
